DC Universe Online

DC Universe Online or DCUO is an MMO game developed by Sony Online's Austin studio for PlayStation 3 and PC, based on the number of DC Comics superheroes.

Story
DC Universe Online is presented in an alternative present, but the opening cinematic is shown an alternate future in which there is a devastating war between superheroes and supervillains. This war is last in Metropolis scenario as physically devastated and murders of familiar characters from DC Comics. War "ends" with a supposed murder of Superman at the hands of Lex Luthor, leaving the Joker as a survivor. Luthor turns to proclaim victory, but what we see is the beginning of "Brainiac War" on Earth.
The scene then shifts to the present alternative in Watchtower, which tells the story Luthor to Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. Luthor explains that the war between the heroes and villains was triggered by the manipulations of Brainiac, who had been slowly downloading their powers over time. With superheroes and supervillains murdered, Brainiac intended to use the pirated data to create an army of "human" with superpowers under his control, facilitating his conquest on Earth. As a survivor of the war, Luthor could do nothing to resist Brainiac's subjugation of the planet.
Luthor explains that he was able to survive and eventually steal the stolen data and energy from Brainiac's mothership in the form of exobytes devices, nano-robots that can attach to a living host and give it their own superpowers. After finally getting a Time Machine and apparatus technology Brainiac, Lex Luthor travels into his past to release exobytes current Earth's atmosphere. The heroes are outraged, but Luthor explains why he did that. Soon, thousands of "human" with new superpowers are created from humans. He asks the Justice League to find and train these new mutants, because Brainiac is coming and the Earth must be ready to succeed where it was once doomed to failure.
The second trailer for the game, "In Lex trust", you can see that Lex's description of events leading up to his arrival in the present alternative is not as he described to the heroes. The trailer "begins" with Lex reviving his companion, Fracture, from being unconscious. Lex explains that Brainiac's forces have already penetrated the Fortress of Solitude and that their time is running out. As they approach a time portal, a robot Brainiac attacks Fracture who, using a small grenade, destroys the robot physically. The two arrive at the portal which is being stabilized by Batman, whose face is disfigured and arm is replaced by a robotic prosthetic due to injuries from the battle of villains and heroes. When more robots invade the chamber, Luthor mind saying his armor is damaged and that he can not keep them out. Batman tells Fracture to take exobytes and go through the portal, attacking robots and give them more time. Fracture thanks Lex for using exobytes to give the powers and Lex, seeing the opportunity he was waiting, murderous Fracture describing him as "an excellent lab rat." When Luthor is about to enter the portal, Batman tells Luthor will return to stop him and Lex responds that he (Batman) and will not activate a sequence of self-destruction. Lex enters the portal and the Fortress of Solitude begins to explode. He arrives in a dark alley, presumably present day. He is greeted by his "other self", where he jokes that it's too late.

DC Universe Online has received several positive reviews from critics. Nick Kolan of IGN said, "I wanted to love DC Universe Online, but instead I just like it. Has a lot - a great license, some excellent voice actors, all settings worked well, fast action-based combat, and a market full of people who, until now, were badly exposed to the MMO genre. " Kevin VanOrd of Game Spot wrote, "PC players will be immediately impressed with the game interface. Loadings on PC's are fast and the game is with a few bugs, but nothing that spoils the game. A PS3 version is noticeably slower Menus take too long to appear, and the game might freeze for a second or two, and the warnings pop-in during the game using the Unreal 3 engine is also very common. "
